The 37th National Masters Swimming Championships was held in Adelaide, South Australia from 14 – 17 April 2012.
The venue was the South Australian Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Oaklands Park. This new centre was opened in April 2011 and is designed to meet FINA guidelines for swimming, water polo and diving. There are two 50m pools of 10 lanes, dive tower, and 1000 sq m of leisure water as well as event and spectator areas. This pool was also used for Olympic Swimming trials this year.Jeannie Johnson and Ted O’Rourke represented Somerset swimmers at the Nationals, and were accompanied by Jude Crawford who met up with them in Adelaide. They also shared accommodation with Don ‘Roo’ Reynolds who is an ex Maida Vale member now resident in Tasmania. He had come over to the Nationals as an official.
